Arranging Numbers

 Arranging numbers from smallest-biggest:

For you to determine if the number is the smallest or the biggest you need to look at the place value. For example the number you need to arange from smallest to biggest is 4509 45 45,009 450. The first thing you need to do is look at the first value of all the numbers. Their digits are all the same but their place values are different. So if you are to arrange the numbers by smallest to biggest you should start from tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands and so on. If your arranging the numbers from smallest to biggest the answer is 45, 450, 4509,45009

Arranging numbers from biggest-smallest

For you to determine if the number is the smallest or the biggest you need to look at the place value. For example the number you need to arange from biggest to smallest is 2137 3721 2109 3748. The first thing you need to do is look at the first value of all the numbers. Their place values are all the same but their digits are different. So if you are to arrange the numbers by biggest to smallest you should look at the thousands place value. Since the numbers all have a thousands place value, start at the thousands. Look at the numbers that have a 3000 place value. Their thousands value are the same their hundreds digit are still the same but when you get to the tens the value of 40 is greater than the value of 20. So, that means 3748 is first and 3721 is the second. After that look at the numbers with 2000 place value. Their value on the thousands place are the same and their value on the hundreds are still the same but when you get to the tens you can see, that 30 is greater than 0. So that means 2137 is third and 2109 is fourth. So, that means the sequence is 3748, 3721, 2137 and 2109.
