1. Department of Agrarian reform:
Because of today’s El Nino, farmers are having a
hard time growing their crops because of the lack of water and too much sunlight.
I think that planning is a good way of figuring out what crops are good to
plant during this type of weather. Programs concerning the method of planting
crops can be easily run by the cabinet members. Strip cropping and fallowing are
2 of the ways people can help farmers. Organic fertilizers can also be used to
help the crops grow quicker.
2. Department of Education:
There are a lot of children that are in the streets.
According to the 1998 report, there are about 1.5 million street children in
our country 70% of which are boys. Because of this, the government should build
more schools for these children so that they could learn and get a good job
when they are older. The government should also give a higher salary to the
teachers. The current salary of the teachers in our country today is around
216,000 per year and only 18,000 per month. So, if the government increases the
salary, the teachers would be engaged to work because of the high salary.
3. Department of Transportation and Communication:
I want to focus more on the MRTs and the LRTs
because this is the most common used mode of transportation publicly. The
current problems these trains are facing today are that the carriages always
get broken and there are always long lines because of the small amount of
carriages to ride in. I suggest that first, the government should figure out a
way to upgrade the train system so that they don’t break so often. And second,
they should build more of the upgraded trains. I think that they should talk to
the prime minister of Singapore about how to enhance the trains we have today
and how to estimate the number of trains so that we have enough for Metro
Manila’s population.
