Lesson 1: Bright Future

"I will bless you with a future filled with hope-a future of success, not suffering' - Jeremiah 29:11

Pessimistic thoughts: These are the thoughts of the people who always think negative thoughts about things they do or the things they have

Optimistic thoughts: These are the thoughts of the people who think the good in the things they do or the things they have because they believe that God is with them

My Pessimistic thoughts: 
1. I am really fat because I eat a lot,
2. I fail at tests because i don't study
3. I get scolded a lot because I am bad tempered                                                                                             
My Optimistic thoughts: 
1. I will eat less and exercise a lot
2. I will study harder so I can get good grades
3. I will try to cool down if someone is making me angry

To have my bright future I always need to think optimistic.

Lesson 2: Roadblocks

"Such a large crowd of witnesses is all around us! So we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that just won't let go. And we must be determined to run the race that is ahead of us."- Hebrews 12:1

We always need to be cautious of the roadblocks that are in your way. Roadblocks are problems or things that get in your way to stop you from having a good life. Some of your roadblocks might be money, people, abilities, circumstances and your attitudes. But to jump over these roadblocks, just like the people who do hurdle jumping, you need to have God with you. God will help you jump over the roadblock in your way and another roadblock will be in your way. But while you have God with you, you can jump over the roadblocks and have a happier life.

My roadblocks:
One of my roadblocks are gadgets. What I am trying to achieve is good grades so I can have a good job. I consider these as roadblocks because I always put my hands and eyes on my gadgets before I study. What I need to do to overcome my roadblock is to not use them regularly but just use them when I need them and when I have free time.

Another one of my roadblocks is self control. What I am trying to achieve is a healthy body. This is a roadblock because I cannot control myself to eat more and more and more food. What I need to do to have a healthy body is to exercise regularly and to eat less food.

Another one of my roadblocks are distractions like toys, playmates and computer games. What I want to achieve are good grades. This is one of my roadblocks because it keeps me from being focused on what I'm doing. For example, if I am doing something on my computer, my computer games keep tempting me to get out of what I am doing for my studies and play them all day. What I need to do to help me focus is to think of what will happen if I played with my playmates, played my computer games and played with my toys. Will the result be good or will it be bad?

Lesson 3: Cause and Effect

"And justice will produce lasting peace and security" - Isaiah 32:17

Situations:

Cause: I prepared for my portfolio review: Controllable Cause
Effect: I did good in my portfolio review and my teacher complimented me!

Cause: My grandfather smoked and drank too much: Uncontrollable Cause
Effect: He died just after my birthday

Cause: I ate to much food and sweets; Controllable Cause
Effect: I got fatter and fatter the more I eat food and sweets.

Cause: I wanted to buy everything: Controllable Cause
Effect: I spent all of my money on things that I don't need

Cause: My grandmother didn't pay the bill of our electricity; Controllable Cause
Effect: We experienced a blackout for a couple of days

Cause: I played my phone until 11:00 P.M: Controllable Cause
Effect: I woke up late the next day and I got lesser time to study

Cause: I studied hard for my tests: Controllable Cause
Effect: I got good graded and I moved to grade 5

What I learned:
I learned that you should always be careful of what you do because what you are doing might have a bad effect.

Lesson 4: Choose wisely

'If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you. God is generous and won't correct you for asking' - James 1:5

What I chose: I chose to not study for my exams because I said that I already knew it
What happened: I forgot the answers and I got low grades

What I chose: I chose to not follow my mom around the supermarket
What happened: I got lost and I needed to explore the whole supermarket just to find her

What I chose: I chose to sleep early for my violin class
What happened: I woke up early and got there just in time for my class

What I chose: I chose to practice hard for my swimming competition
What happened: I won medals and I got a prize

What I chose: I chose to bully my classmate and not make friends with her
What happened: My class adviser found out, told my mom and my mom scolded me

I learned that you should always be careful of what you choose because the choices you make might be bad for you or the other people around you.

Lesson 5: Be careful of detours

"Please help me learn the right thing, and I will be honest and fair in my own kingdom" - Psalm: 101:2

Detours are ways or paths that might distract you on what you are doing.

What I was doing: Studying my lessons
Detour: I saw my I-pad and started playing with it
Consequence: I got bad grades because I didn't study for the pop quiz

What I was doing: I was walking with my mom in the supermarket
Detour: I saw a bunch of candies and let go of my mom's hand
Consequence: I got lost and needed to find her

What I was doing: My mom told me to sleep early for my violin class
Detour: I saw my laptop and started playing with it until 11:00
Consequence: I woke up late for my violin class and we had to hurry

What I was doing: I was playing with my cousins
Detour: I wanted to trip one of my cousins because I thought it was going to be funny
Consequence: She cried, she told my mom and my mom scolded me

What I was doing: I was practicing our dance for the around the world dances
Detour: I decided to stop practicing because I saw my friends playing
Consequence: I forgot some of the steps

I learned that you should always follow the right path so that you don't get yourselves in trouble.

Lesson 6: Prepared

"Anyone who hears these teachings of mine is like a wise person who built a house on solid rock" - Matthew 7:24

Problem: I am being tempted
Explanation: I am being tempted when the devil is asking me to disobey my parents, hurt my playmates and when he tempts me to play with my I-pad while studying.
Scripture: (1 Corinthians 10:13)

Problem: I need courage
Explanation: I need courage whenever the evil doesn't want me to do something very good
Scripture: (Philippians 4:13)

Problem: When I have no faith in God
Explanation: I have no faith in God whenever the devil wants me to follow him
Scripture: (Psalm 121:7-8)

Problem: When I am afraid
Explanation: I am afraid when the devil always scares me so that I may follow him
Scripture: (Psalm 27:1)

Problem: When I do the wrong things
Explanation: I do wrong things because the devil is always making me obey him instead of God
Scripture: (Proverbs 3:11-12)

I learned that you should always follow God and obey him so that you don't get hurt by the devil

"But as he went up, they kept looking up into the sky. Suddenly two men dressed in white clothes were standing beside them. They said: 'Why are you men from Galilee standing here and looking up into the sky? Jesus has been taken to heaven, but he will come back, in the same way that you have seen him go'" - Acts 1:10-11

The best thing about everyone's future is the coming of Christ. But, you also need to prepare for the coming of Christ.

* There will be wars

* There will be people who claim they are Christ

* There will be famine

* There will be earthquakes and storms

* There will be persecutions

* And believers will be hated

So if Jesus is coming, why are there a lot of horrible stuff happening?

* Jesus will come so that he can fix everything

* He will come because he will defeat the devil once and for all

* Jesus will come to rescue us

* He will come so that we can give him all the power that he deserves

* Jesus will come because he wants us to be with him forever

I learned that Jesus will always be with you even though you can't see or touch him

God's awesome plan for me

What do you think is God's awesome plan for you? I think that God's awesome plan for me is that I will be a good girl that studies hard, loves her country, her family and loves God the way she loves everyone. But how do I achieve my awesome future? I want to become a popular fashion designer and go to Paris. I want to make clothes for everyone to wear and to glorify God by making his people happy using the talents he has given me. 

Everyone has a different awesome plan because God created us unique and different from each other. We all have our flaws and imperfections, but that's what makes us extraordinary.

Of course everyone has an awesome plan from God. But sometimes, the devil ruins this and we commit mistakes. We always need to be careful about the devil's tricks and traps. To avoid these we need to pray so that God will save us from any temptations. 

But there is always a right way on how to pray. Go to a quiet room, close the door and pray. Make sure that you pray from your heart and not just saying words. It is okay if its not to long, as long as it comes from your heart.

After you prayed, what will happen? God gives you graces. If you want to have the amazing future God has planned for you, you need to have Jesus. If you have Jesus, God can take away your sins and put his plan for you in exchange. 

Now that you have prayed and you have Jesus, you can have your awesome future. But if you love only Jesus and God and not the people around you, you can't have your awesome future. Because Jesus said to his disciples: Love others just as you love me. 

Now that you have your awesome future with you, you need to share your blessings to other people so that you can go to heaven and sit next to the Lord our God.

Following God Unit 2 Summarization

Lesson 1: God created me

"You are the one who put me together inside my mother's body." - Psalms 139:13

People say that we evolved from a singled cell organism that, eventually turned into man. But in the bible, it says that God took some soil from the ground and formed man out of it. God made everyone of us very different from each other and very unique. But he loves us equally. When he made the earth, he let us rule the earth. He let us rule everything and he crowned with glory and honor. We are very special because we are God's perfect creation.


Lesson 2: Created and saved by God

"But God showed how much he loved us by  having Christ die for us." - Romans 5:8

Everything we do wrong makes God sad and probably we make God angry. Even though we make God sad or angry he still loves us. God made us and saved us by using a very special person. He is Jesus. God sacrificed his own son to wash away our sins, so that we can go up to heaven with God.


Lesson 3: Faith that saves

"Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten and everything is new." - 2 Corinthians 5:17

God sent his only son to die for us so that Jesus can take our sins away. If you have Jesus in your heart, you will have eternal life and they will go up to heaven with Jesus and God. And every time a person who has sins receives Jesus, Heaven will be happier and happier.


Lesson 4: I will love God with my all

"You musst love him with all you heart, soul, mind and strength." - Mark 12:30

Who is God? He is my bestfriend, father, creator, doctor, partner and healer. We should always Honor, praise and glorify God because he is the father of everything and everyone. A true child of God is always, loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle and self-controlled. God loves us so much that he gave everyone of us our own angel to watch an guide us. If you hate the people around you, it means that you don't love God. Always love others the way you love God.


Lesson 5: I can come to God in prayer

"You should pray like this: Father in heaven, help us to honor your name. Come set up your kingdom so that everyone on earth will obey you, as you are obeyed in heaven. Give us our food for today. Forgive us for doing wrong, as we forgive others. Keep us from being tempted and protect us from evil." - Matthew 6: 9-13

We always pray to God for different reasons. We pray to him to talk to him, to thank him, to ask him and many more different reasons on why we pray to him. When we pray, we don't just go and do the sign of the cross and say words that don't mean anything. Instead, pray in a quiet room, and pray for what you want. It doesn't matter whether your prayer is short. What matters is your prayer to God comes from your heart.


Lesson 6: I choose to do God's will

 "Your word is a lamp that gives light wherever I walk."- - Psalm 119:105

God wants us to choose his direct will so that we can go up to him. When you know the Word of God, it can light your way to God's will. The only way you can find God's will is by being a child of God. To be a child of God you need to be Honest, you need to speak sensibly and you need to love both Jesus and God. To find God's will you also need to pray. Pray about everything you need praying of. Yourself, the people around you, your country and the people you love. If we do all these things, we might be able to find the will of God.


Lesson 7: I will love others as God loves me

"But I am giving you a new command. You must love each other just as I have loved you. If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples." - John 13:34-35

Jesus is our everything, he is our bestfriend, our hero and our adviser. God loves us so much, that he sent Jesus to die for us. God loves us as much as we love him. But if you don't love the people around you, it means that you don't love God. Because, always love others as much as you love God. When Jesus was a man, many people liked him. But not all liked him. But Even though that some people Jesus met did not like him, he still loved them, including Judas who betrayed Jesus. I remember that the love God gives me, I will show it to everyone so that they will know I am a child of God.


Lesson 8: I tell others about Jesus

"But if we confess our sins to God, he can always be trusted to forgive us and take our sins away." - 1 John 1:9

If you know Jesus, you need to tell him to people. So that more and more people become a child of God. If you have realized you are a sinner, the first thing you need to do is pray to God, then you need to confess your sins. If you believe in Jesus and God, your sins will be washed away. Also if you confess your sins, God will forgive you. Also after you have confessed your sins, you might want to tell to other people about how God is very glorious and powerful.

You should always forgive people even if the sin they have done to you is very big.

We should always accept Jesus in our heart and we should always thank him for dying on the cross just for us.

Why we shouldn't be afraid?

We shouldn't be afraid because Isaiah 41:10 says "Do not be afraid, I am with you. I am your God, let nothing terrify you, I will make you strong and help you. I will protect and save you." it said that God is with you always. It also says that he will make you strong, he will help you, he will protect you and he will save you. 

How can we stop being afraid?
We can stop being afraid by trusting God that he will strengthen us and help us.

What would happen if we don't give our fears to God?
Romans 8:15-"For the Spirit that God has given you does no make you slaves and cause you to be afraid; instead, the Spirit makes you God's children, and by the Spirit's power we cry out to God Father my Father."

How can we trust God?
1 John 4:18- "There is no fear in love; perfect love drives out all fear. So then love has not been made perfect in anyone who is afraid, because fear has to do with punishment."

What if we do learn to trust God, what would happen? 
If we trust him, we don't need to fear the world.

Lizzie, the ugliest girl in the world

Lizzie was voted the ugliest girl in the world. She was born with a very rare syndrome that only 2 people are known to have it. Her syndrome is she could not gain weight. She could nearly gain about 64 pounds of weight. She is also visually impaired in the right eye. I understand her problem by the video from TEDx. The reason for her suffering is because of God's works may be shown by the help of the people like Lizzie. She said in her speech, "What defines you?" What defines Lizzie is her goals and success, not the people that are making her suffer. I think this is the suffering of Lizzie because God wants us see that he could heal the people that are suffering through his eyes.

History of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving begins when President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed the last thursday of November to be a day of giving thanks and praise to God and his only son. This proclamation day was held on the civil war on October 3rd, 1836. The very first thanksgiving was held on 1621 by the Pilgrims. They invited Native Americans to join them and to eat what they harvested from their crops. We still celebrate thanksgiving today with turkey, stuffing, potatoes, pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce. In some countries, they celebrate their thanksgiving with a parade held on or around thanksgiving day. Some people take a four day weekend. It is called a 4 day weekend because they usually take a vacation the day after Thanksgiving. This holiday is celebrated because we want to give thanks for what we have and for the blessings that God gave us.

How is Satan created?

Before the world was created God first created the Angels. Since we have billions of people, God must have created billions of Angels.  One of these angels was the General. And his name is Lucifer. Since he was the General, God gave him all the rubies on him. Since he was the General he thought that he can boss everyone and be greedy. Since God can read everyone's hearts God read Lucifer's heart. Sin, greed and being higher than God is what is inside Lucifer's heart. When God saw that in Lucifer's heart he believes in Sin, greed and being higher than God , he sent Lucifer to earth and to the underworld and below heaven. Lucifer said that is in unfair that he is on the underworld and God is above him. And when Lucifer sinned his friends joined him and became demons. And that is how Satan, the first sinner was created.

Fact:

God made the animals. But the diseases caused by the animals was made by Satan causing us to feel sick and weak.

Ephesians 1:3-8

This verse says that God makes us holy through Jesus Christ. God wants us to be holy so that if we go to heaven and meet God we will be holy. God chose us to be the children of God so that we can listen, believe and love Jesus the way we love God. I learned that being holy can help you get yourself to heaven and meet God and Jesus.

John 15:9-17

This verse says that we can go to God through Jesus. When you say someone is your friend, you understand him or her very well. Not like a master. If you say someone is your master and you are his or her servant, that servant doesn't know what his or her master is going instead treat someone as your friend not your master. The thing I learned in this verse is that Jesus doesn't treat us as his servants instead he treats us as his friends.

John 3:16-18

This verse says that God sent his only son to the world so that everyone who believes in him will go up to heaven. God sent his son not to judge us but to let us believe in him so that we can be saved. The thing I learned in this verse is that this verse is very powerful and this can help us go up to heaven.

Romans 5:1-8

This verse says that God sent his only son to the earth to deliver us from our sins. But what if that person is naughty, if that person is naughty that is why Jesus died on the cross so that those naughty people will realize how much God loves us. The thing I learned in this verse is that if you know God you know unconditional love.

Psalms 148:1-6

This verse says that we should always praise God. Nothing can overpower him. From the smallest of the ants to the biggest of the sun. He is always our one and only God. The thing I learned in this verse is that praising, believing and loving God will lead you straight to the christian life and heaven.

 

Psalms147;6-11

This verse says that God is great. The people who honor him will be the people who God will treasure. He is great because he helps the poor, the animals, the plants, the trees and he also helps us. The thing I learned in this verse is that you should always honor, praise, love believe in God so that you can go up to heaven and sit next to him.

 

Psalms 147:1-5

This verse says that you should praise the Lord because he is the person who makes us happy and you should sing praise to him because he is the one that made the stars and the things that shine on us. The thing I learned in this verse is that you should glorify and praise God because at the end of the day even if you are hurt or brokenhearted God will heal you because you Glorified and praised him at the start of the day.

Isaiah 40:21-24

This verse says that God lives with us even though we can't see him. He sent angels to protect us and God also helps them by telling them what to do when they are protecting us. God makes the plants grow, lets the sun shine on us, makes the raindrops fall and creates day and night. The thing I learned in this verse is that the angels and God are beside us even though we cannot see and feel them, They are just like wind, we can't see it but we can feel the angel's love and protection for us.

Joshua 1:6-9

This verse says that you should always be brave and strong while obeying God's instructions. You should be brave so that you can protect yourself and other from danger. You should also be strong to defend yourself and others from evil. And you should definitely obey God's instructions to us because it will lead you to a better life. We should do these three so that we know how to fight evil and we can defend the word of God from other who don't believe in him.

Psalms 17:6-8

In this verse, a person said to us that God is our protector. God protects us from the devil, he protects us from commiting a sin and he protects us from doing bad things. When we need him, he answers us and helps us. He always watches us even though we don't see him. I feel very safe and sound when I feel that God is wih me.
