This project is about understanding why gas giants like Uranus and Neptune have clouds in their atmosphere. I wanted to do this project because I wanted to see how clouds are formed. The materials I used are, a glass jar, a lighter or a matchstick, a bag of ice and hot water. You first heat up your water in the microwave for about 3 minutes and while it is heating up, fill your Ziploc bag about halfway with ice. Keep it in the freezer until you need it. After that pour the water into the jar about halfway. When you are done pouring,light up your matchstick or use a lighter and continue with the instructions from the video.

PAGASA headquarters field trip
My PAGASA field trip was a success. i went to the PAGASA headquarters with my dad and we first watched a short introduction video about the storms, hurricanes, floods, and the rain that has happened the past years. One thing I learned is that, if there is lightning and you do not have a safe place to go besides your car, go in your car and avoid the trees that are around you, you will not be harmed by the lightning when you are inside your car. Why wouldn't you be harmed? Because the lightning is attracted to metal and when the lightning hits your car, the lightning will go around your car and going straight to the ground. But do not touch anything metal inside your car. After that, we went to a planetarium and saw the different constellations made by the stars. Some constellations are Sagittarius, lei, big ladle, small ladle and many more. After the stars we saw the planets in the planetarium from a projector. We saw all the planets and the names they have come from. When that was done, we went to a weather talk and talked about the different tools on how you can tell when a storm, flood and any other storms are coming. One thing I learned is how would you know when a storm is coming? One tool you could use is a wind gauge. The wind blows and it spins sending data to a computer if a storm is coming or not. If the wind is soft, it means that there is no storm. But if the wind is strong, that will signal the people there is a storm coming. And they send it to weather forecasters to tell the people that there is a storm. Finally, the tour guide asked us if we still want to go to the library. I said no because my feet hurts after all that walking. So, we just walked back to our car, had our merienda and went back home. It was a really fun day for me.

God's gift to us...Earth
"The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, but the earth he has given to the son's of men."
The most perfect design that God has designed is our home planet, earth. It is the most perfect planet in our solar system. Perfect plants, perfect buildings, perfect air to breath even people are perfectly made by God. One thing that is perfect about earth is it's magnetosphere. Perfect magnet-o-what? Perfect magnetosphere. It is the magnetic power that surrounds the earth pulling harmful particles away from earth and into space. With the tiny bits of harmful particles, it makes up what scientists call the solar wind. Without the magnetosphere we would not survive. Another perfect thing about earth is it's gravity. Imagine if we have less gravity or we could even say less mass. Jumping on the roof would be easy. Running a mile would take seconds and if we climbed on a tree and we fell it would not hurt very much. But if the earth had less mass things would go floating up in space and it would be hard just to stand up. It is good to say that earth doesn't have more mass. If it did, walking would be tiring. Walking up a flight of stairs would make us pant and need a long rest. And the harmful particles would just sit there and don't float up in space. So that is why God made the earth perfect, and no one could change it not even a little detail of it.

Why is earth a special and unique planet?
Earth is a special planet because it is the only planet that can support life. It is so special that God put us in a zone so that we will not be frozen and we will not be so hot. Atmosphere, this word is from the word atmos which means steam in Latin and sphere which means ball. So if you combine them together, atmosphere means ball of steam. Why am I telling you about the earth's atmosphere? It is because that our atmosphere is the only air that can let us survive while the other's atmospheres are not. The earth is made up of 4 layers. The first one is called crust, the second is called mantle, the third is outer core and the fourth is inner core. Crust is the layer we stand on. This includes, sand, soil, dirt, rocks and many more. The crust also contains the mountains, oceans, trees, and the houses that we stand on. Mantle is made out of semisolid rock and it is very far away from where we are standing. The mantle is the hottest layer in earth. The outer core is made out of iron and nickel. This layer is important because the magnetic field depends on this layer. The center of the earth is also made out of iron and nickel, but those metals are different. Earth is a very special planet because God's fingerprints are all over earth. In other words, when we look at the things around us, we can see that only a very wise and very talented God Has made all of this for us. So that is why Earth is a special and unique planet.

Venus
The hottest planet is not the closest planet to the sun but it is the second planet. Venus is hot because of it's volcanoes. It has a lot of it. And they erupt every now and then. Venus is the hottest because it has a heavy atmosphere. If the heat from the sun goes in Venus, that heat can no longer get out. In other words the heat is trapped inside Venus. Venus rotates very slowly. The funny thing about Venus is that it rotates on the other side. The sun sets on the west, if you are on Venus the sun would set on the east. I think the most interesting about Venus is it's volcanoes. But I don't think I need to tell you that because I already told you. Since Venus is the hottest planet you can't stand on Venus because it is just too hot. If you try to stand on it your foot will burn. Ouch! That would hurt. Venus is right next to earth. Some say that Venus is a twin of earth. Remember only one spacecraft had visited Mercury? Well 22 spacecrafts have visited Venus already. But don't worry all of them are unmanned.

Mercury
The most fascinating thing about mercury is it's craters. Some say that there was a planet between Mars and Jupiter that exploded and the rocks from that planet fell on mercury and created the craters. Mercury is small, in fact it is the smallest planet because Pluto is known as a dwarf planet. Mercury is just the same size as our moon. Mercury is the closest planet to the sun. So you are wondering, if Mercury is the closest planet to the sun it never gets cold there. Well actually it gets cold on Mercury when it is night time but its not the hottest planet, Venus is. Why? You ask. Because Venus' atmosphere is much thinner than Mercury. Isn't that amazing?
